Description

Class Experience

Students will continually learn more about the game and will also learn improv skills, critical thinking, strategic planning and teamwork.

Each week will be a fun exercise in imagination, group storytelling and creativity. Emphasis on fun!
I first began playing D&D back in the early days of 2nd Edition, when I was just 8 years old. Thus began a lifelong love of fantasy, imagination and roleplaying games. Besides running professional D&D games, I am also a trained theatre actor and producer with 20+ years of experience creating immersive stories.

As a DM, I am patient, endlessly enthusiastic, creative, organized and devoted to my players' enjoyment. I also do quite a few character voices!
No homework will be assigned, however it will be the students' responsibility to keep track of their characters' abilities as they gain experience and advance in levels.

Beyond that, students will be invited to participate, if they desire, in a group journal that showcases images, quotes, maps, music and sound recordings from our adventures.
You will need: 1) Character Sheet 2) Dice or online dice roller 3) Notepad
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
As this is a fantasy Dungeon and Dragons adventure where the students role-play heroes facing dangerous adversaries, there will be occasional portrayals of non-graphic fantasy violence, akin to Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

Students will always be encouraged to have their characters solve problems without violence, but sometimes foes will be faced that require a strong sword arm or a potent spell. Even in those cases, the portrayals will be age appropriate.
Upon enrolment, students will be provided with materials to "set the scene" for the world of Rythianor and our campaign. These are not required readings, but are offered for the students' enjoyment.

Students will also receive further guidance on character creation and which optional rules we will be using.
