Current Schedule: Week One - You begin your character travelling along the High Road until you come around a small town. You see a trail of smoke rising for where a building once was. Will you help this small village? Week Two - You encounter the entrance to temple in the nearby Neverwinter woods, it appears to be of elven design but the inhabitants seem to be far from elves! Week Three - Rescuing the kidnapped child you make your way back to the hamlet of Evermist, and continue your journey further South. Following weeks - Student led by their characters! _________________________________________________________________________ Dungeons & Dragons is a highly social and collaborative tabletop role-playing game where learners create unique characters and work together to build a story filled with drama, intrigue and adventure. Join us as we play through the Lost Mine of Phandelver, a fantastic campaign found in the Dungeons & Dragons Starter Pack. This is a perfect entry campaign for beginners, and a wonderful world to explore with a new a group of players. Players will start with a 1st level character and advance to a 5th level by the end of the adventure. What is the Lost Mine of Phandelver? The Lost Mine of Phandelver follows a group of adventurers (your learners!) as they try to find Gundren Rockseeker, a dwarf who has gone missing after rediscovering a long lost mine - the source of great magical power, known as the Forge of Spells. Along this journey, they will battle vicious beasts (wolves, bears and giant lizards), determined fighters (bandits, orcs and goblins), and powerful leaders (warlords and evil mages). Can they find Gundren and the mine before it's too late? Adventure Structure: This class will be an on-going adventure. Students should feel free to join at any time, those who join later in the campaign will be integrated at the beginning of their first session. Sessions will be learner-directed based on story and character choices the learners make. For new learners, please say hello in the classroom prior to their first class so we can discuss their character and tell them about what to expect in their first class. Or if they would prefer a fuller introduction then they can take the Creating a Character class prior to joining this adventure! For a rough idea of the journey, the adventure is split into 4 parts, Goblin Arrows (3-4 weeks), Phandalin (3-5 weeks), Spider's Web (3-5 weeks), Wave Echo Cave (2-3 weeks), with extra space for further character exploration (2-3 weeks). Number of weeks are estimates as this depends on the learners. I will add updates to the current position of the story in the classroom for learners to keep track or follow if they have missed certain weeks. Requirements: Students will require access to a computer (or multiple tablet/phone/devices as it is not possible to manage both the zoom meeting and other websites on a single small screen). Alongside the Zoom meeting, we will be using the websites D&D Beyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/) and Owlbear Rodeo (https://www.owlbear.rodeo/).
