Dungeons & Dragons is a highly social and collaborative tabletop role-playing game where learners create unique characters and work together to build a story filled with drama, intrigue and adventure. Join us as we play through Ghosts of Saltmarsh, an adventure that features smugglers, pirates, and parrots! Players will start with a 1st level character and advance to 8th level by the end of the adventure. What is Ghosts of Saltmarsh? In this adventure players will start in Saltmarsh, a small fishing village that is a hotspot of activity due to new trade and growing factions of power. Adventurers will test their skills against lizardfolk, sea ghosts and more ominous threats deep in the water! This is a perfect campaign for players who love the idea of travelling the seas or enjoy films like Pirates of the Caribbean. Players will develop problem solving, creativity and communication skills as their join together to take down a looming threat. Class Structure: This class will be an on-going adventure. Students should feel free to join at any time, those who join later in the campaign will be integrated at the beginning of their first session. Sessions will be learner-directed based on story and character choices the learners make. Week of 8th Nov - Session 1 - Welcome/Introduction - Learners will be introduced to the world and it's history. They will create characters and back stories for how they arrived in Saltmarsh. Week of 15th Nov - Session 2 - Haunted House - Characters arrive in the town of Saltmarsh and begin to hear tales of the haunted house. Week of 22th Nov - Session 3 - The Sea Ghost - By force or deception, the adventurers take control of a powerful ship, The Sea Ghost. Week of 29th Nov - Session 4 - Smuggled Goods - Adventurers find themselves upon a rich source of treasure to trade back in town. Following these first sessions the course will continue with the following chapters, each taking around 2-4 weeks. Chapter 2. Danger at Dunwater Chapter 3. Salvage Operation Chapter 4. The Sahuagin Waves Chapter 5. Isle of the Abbey Chapter 6. The Styes Chapter 7. Tammeraut's Fate I will add updates to the current position of the story in the classroom for learners to keep track or follow if they have missed certain weeks.
