Join anytime! The best time to learn about current events is right now. Empower your teens with the knowledge and critical thinking skills they need to navigate today's complex world with confidence! 🚀 Each week we'll look at the headlines from around the world, including sources like The New York Times, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and the Associated Press, to review key events for strong contextual understanding. Class will examine each event through a variety of lenses to promote student understanding. Some example lenses include economics, political, social, diplomatic, and security perspectives. During class, we'll touch base regarding questions students have from the previous week before diving into the sessions topic. Class will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and source analysis. Here's the take aways for your student: 🔍 Critical Thinking Skills: We foster critical thinking by encouraging participants to question, evaluate, and form their own opinions on various current events. 🌍 Global Awareness: Through thought-provoking discussions, we broaden teens' understanding of global issues and promote empathy and cultural awareness. 💬 Confident Communication: Our supportive environment encourages teens to express their ideas articulately and respectfully, honing their communication skills. 📰 Stay Informed: We keep teens up-to-date with the latest news stories, ensuring they are well-informed citizens of the world. Student Expectations: Students are to come to class with a positive attitude, willingness to listen to other perspectives, and to ask questions. We're all here to learn together. Late Policy: Late arrivals will be admitted at the discretion of Mr. Scott.
