In this one time course, students will draw cute kawaii sheep with different facial expressions. First, students will follow the teacher step by step as we discus basic drawing and coloring skills. After students know how to draw the sheep, they can make more and add different facial expressions.

Students will learn and practice basic drawing and coloring skills. We will talk about specific drawing and coloring tips such as looking for basic shapes (oval, circle, etc) as we draw, "Keep it light until you've got it right", and different background ideas for our drawing (such as collage). Students can choose to follow the teacher step by step or they can add their own creative details. In extension to our lesson today we'll talk about "counting sheep" and other strategies that we might use when we find it difficult to fall asleep.
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic drawing, coloring, and collage skills. Some of these skills include looking for simples shapes to help guide us as we draw and sketching lightly and then darkening the areas that we like.

1. Drawing Paper or Sketchbook 2. Pencil 3. Eraser 4. Pencil sharpener 5. Colored pencils and markers in a wide variety of colors. 6. OPTIONAL: a different colored paper for the background (It is faster than coloring and it looks neater than coloring the entire background in marker.), scissors, glue, and a fine point black permanent marker (to outline drawing and small details).

Hi! I'm Marie, a full-time teacher and artist. I love a wide variety of art and discovering new ways to foster learning through creativity. I believe having fun and laughing while learning is important because it encourages self confidence and joy. I have taught classroom Art as a certified educator in US schools for 10+ years from ages pre-school through high school, as well as teaching & tutoring in single and group lessons for Art, ESL, SPED, Social Studies, Math, Science, Technology and gifted students. I have a BA in Education, and have continued professional certification experience through outside professional training programs, conferences and seminars.
In my spare time I enjoy nature, travel, games, and playing with my dogs. I have transitioned to full-time, online private teaching as I believe it allows teachers to develop curriculum which better meets the needs and interests of today's students by directly engaging with the students more thoroughly. The individual and small group settings allow teachers to cater lessons to students needs and goals intuitively. Private teaching online has also allowed me more time and flexibility to spend with my family.
