From full-on drum kits down to slapping your legs with your hands - it's not what you hit, it's when you hit it. The most important part of any musician is your ears. We will learn to listen and own the beats in your favorite songs!

Class experience

We will cover how to listen for rhythm, how to play with a band as we incorporate other important concepts like:

*Time signatures
*Basic music theory, 
*Notation
*Fills
*Rock beats
*Rudiments

Introductory topics include:
*Engaging
*Blind counting
*Right hand and High Hat
*Right foot and kick drum
*Left hand and snare drum
Homework Offered
Students will get to pick from various assignments presented in lessons, often practicing and presenting a single concept for multiple weeks as they work to perfect it.

 1 file available upon enrollment
No need to purchase anything. At minimum, students should have 2 sticks from their yard and 2 buckets, pots or pans to hit. Eventually, a $2 pair of drumsticks or a 97-cent bucket could be a nice optional upgrade. If you have a drum kit, even better! It doesn't matter how fancy the drums are because it's not what you hit, it's when you hit it.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
