Becoming a great musician requires practice. I encourage students to practice daily for a minimum of fifteen minutes.

Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level

Learn to play the drums. No experience necessary.  Let me help you become a great drummer! This class is perfect for the beginner to advanced student. Each class is catered to the students' own level.  Whether you are playing drum set, school band or want to learn hand drums I can help you achieve your musical goals.  Every week students will develop their knowledge of the drum set and the drumming world.  Reading and technique will be emphasized as these are important tools becoming are great drummer and musician. As well as reading students may have the opportunity to learn popular songs that interest them.

I am a  professional drummer with 20 years of teaching experience. I am the author of "Foundations of Drumming" and have played thousands of concerts and have recorded on over 30 albums.

Learning Goals

-Learn the parts of the drum set 
-Learn proper hand technique
-Learn to read music
-Play a basic beat
-Play rock, jazz or any style on the drum set
-Work on school band music
-Learn hand drumming
-Play your favorite songs on the drum set

Supply List

At the minimum students should have a pair of drum sticks and a practice pad.  A drum set is highly recommended.

Drum set students are asked to purchase a copy of the drum instruction book "Foundations of Drumming"

My name is Jesse Shultzaberger and I am a professional drummer, music instructor and author of drum method book "Foundations of Drumming". I have taught all ages for over twenty year and teach all styles of drums from drum set to hand drumming, marching percussion and mallets, as well as beginner trumpet. My goal is for students to discover the joy of music. I grew up in a musical family and come from a long lineage of excellent teachers. I believe a love of music can enrich anyone’s life and anyone can learn to be musical. 

In addition to teaching music I am also a performer and recording artist. I have played thousands of concerts and have recorded on over 30 albums. Let me help you unleash your inner musicality.
