This class will teach learners about USA road rules and how to be a safe driver. Topics include safe driving practices, right of way, traffic signals, pavement markings, and driving obstacles. Because this is a self-paced class, learners will be able to watch class videos on their own time. Instruction will be based out of the United States, but learners will be encouraged to research and share the different road rules of their country. How does this class work? This class offers 4 video lessons. The recordings will be recorded as if your learner is in a class. The beauty of self-paced classes is that learners can stop, rewind, and even watch the lesson again. An out of class assignment will be posted each week. This can be anywhere to a challenge, competing in a Kahoot game, scavenger hunt, or to taking a picture of a road sign. The assignment type will vary each week as the topic changes. A Kahoot account is not required for this class. - What topics are covered? Safe Driving Practices/RIght of Way
Learners will learn safe ways of driving in many situations. Learners will also learn the Right of Way at stop signs, on ramps, roundabouts, on the road, at an intersection etc. Lesson 2:
Driving In Weather
Learners will learn the safe practices to driving in snow, rain, ice and at night. This lesson covers increased travelling distance, slower breaking, avoiding hydroplaning etc. Lesson 3:
Traffic Signals
Learners will experience the different types of traffic lights and each of their meanings. This lesson covers turning on red, flashing yellow, flashing red, lane control lights, toll booth/EZ pass, etc. Lesson 4:
Road Hazards
Learners will experience different hazards on the road and how to navigate through or around them. This lesson covers wrong way drivers, objects (including animals) in the roadway, etc. Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parent guidance is required to the use of Kahoot. A Kahoot account is not required for this class.
