Drills Make Skills: Back Handspring
In this 3 week course, students will learn safe drills and exercises to help them understand visually and physically how back handspring shapes are formed.

Class Experience
improve back flexibility and strength wrist and ankle strength core, leg, and arm strength understanding of shoulder shrug improve confidence and strength in each phase of the Back Handspring
I was a gymnast for 10 years and have coached for over 7 years. I have experience teaching girls and boys gymnastics, competitive and non competitive.I am certified with USA Gymnastics I have taught a broad range of ages with different goals for wanting to learn the sport. I strive to give students experience of different skills through safe drills to enhance their confidence and understanding. I enjoy seeing the excitement of progressing new skills as gymnast learn patience with themselves, self confidence, and self motivation with a group of people who love the sport just as much as they do.
Each student will be encouraged to do their goal sheet at least 2-3 times a week.
Couch Dining room chair 5 pillows gymnastics mat, yoga mat, or soft surface such as carpet pool noodle, rope, short broom stick or something similar opened wall space light resistance band two water bottles 5 stuffed animals small to medium size ***No jewelry or baggy clothing and pull hair back for safety purposes
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class does have a risk of injury. Some drills require skills such as a handstand or back bend position which have risk of injury if they are not performed properly. Please be sure that students are working in a safe environment where hazardous furniture with sharp edges or tripping hazards are moved away from the space the gymnast will perform drills. Parental supervision may need to be modified due to your students strength or experience level doing certain skills.
