Class Experience

In this class we will read a new story every week. Learners will be asked to choose a comfortable sitting or lying position and to remain as still as possible for the duration of the exercise. Following the prompts in the story, little dreamers will close their eyes and use their imagination and visualization skills to imagine a new setting every week. This class is designed to draw children away from the screen, to use their imagination, to focus their attention without external stimulation, to connect with the world around them, and to help them relax their mind and body at will.

With help of a story meditation students will learn the possibility of experiencing a world of magic and adventure within themselves. Such exercises can help build learner's self-esteem and confidence while also improving creative abilities and practicing mindfulness. Regular meditation practice has shown to improve concentration and aid learning.

Each class will consist of:
- Introduction and invitation to express how learners feel
- Brief breathing exercise
- Story time = mediation practice
- Discussion of experience

Weekly stories will include:
Week of February 14: Angel
Week of February 21: Big Squeeze
Week of February 28: Floating
Week of March 7: Lighthouse
Week of March 14: Peace Star
Week of March 21: Long Stretch
Week of March 28: Battery Charger
Week of April 4: Relaxing on the Beach
April 11- 22: BREAK
Week of April 25: Stars
Week of May 2: Shower of Light
Week of May 9: Magic Wardrobe
Week of May 16: Butterfly
Week of May 23: Sinking

This class can be great for children preparing for bed, or a great break during the day to feel more confident and calm.

I trust that the earlier we introduce mindfulness and meditation to children, the easier it can be for them as they grow up. But please note that, just as Rome was not built in one day, meditation and mindfulness exercises require time and practice.

Though we will try to end the class as close as possible to the 25 minute mark, this class might vary in length between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the number of students in class as we try to give everybody an opportunity to express their opinion. This class could be great with only 2 learners, but since a large part of the experience is sharing and hearing other people share their experience, this class will be truly amazing when we have about 6-8 learners. Feel free to sign up, and if we have too few people in a section I will offer you the option of transferring to a different section.

Certified Yoga Teacher:
I have been practicing asana for over 10 years. Realizing the effect that my practice had on me both mentally and physically, I was pulled to learn more about yoga. Having completed the 200hr YYT with We Are One Teacher Training in Reno, I started teaching both online and in person in individual settings and small groups. It is very empowering and motivational to see the students realize the impact that yoga can have on them. Because we all can use a little bit of yoga...

There are no judgments in my classes, and no previous experience is required. Starting practicing yoga is never too early and it is never too late. Also, there is no better day then today!
