Throughout the class, I will have artists share their work with me to see their progress and ask questions as they arise.Class Experience
Each week, artists doodle and draw together: we will focus on animals and use a circle to prompt our drawings, but we can let our imagination and ideas go: food, faces, objects, designs and more! It is fun to start with a simple circle and see how much you can do with it and all the amazing drawings that can come from it! After brief introductions, artists will be shown examples of the basic strokes, lines and shapes and completed drawings for that week’s theme. We will draw together, step-by-step with verbal cues and an overhead art cam will be displayed in every class for further guidance. Everyone is encouraged to try their own approach, as desired. As time allows, artists are encouraged to add colors and embellish their artwork. We may even include a fun art-related game or take time to share and socialize a bit! Even though everyone will be drawing the same subject, and using the same visual references, no two will ever look alike! Please have the following supplies on hand: Drawing paper of your choice, 8 1/2 x 11 is an ideal size Pencil and eraser Black Sharpie markers Colored markers Colored pencils Crayons This class is a multi-day class so we will meet once each week for 4 weeks. Learners are charged for all 4 meeting times as one fee.
Learning Goals
My goal is for artists to have fun learning to doodle and draw different animals and other things by starting with a circle shape and adding simple lines and other embellishments and to continue to practice drawings on their own time.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from UCLA
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My style is more simple, abstract, and graphic and this is reflected in my artwork over the years. I enjoyed working with elementary-aged students for a few years when I ran a volunteer-led art program. We did a wide variety of simple art projects that incorporated the elements of art and principles of design, as well as inspiration from an art master. I love the simplicity of these drawings!
