Class Experience
In this 4-week flex class, learners will learn about and draw 8 zoo animals. We will compile our 8 illustrations into a zoo portfolio. Students will name their zoo, create an optional cover for their zoo, and share it with our class group. Students will develop their spatial awareness and artistic confidence by following the directed drawing instructions. By creating a cumulative keepsake with their work, students will take pride in their creation and hopefully feel eager to share their zoo with family and friends. How will the class be organized? I will post directed drawing videos and instructions twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. Students will be expected to post their drawings and offer compliments to their classmates. They will receive individual feedback from me on each art piece. In addition to our artwork, students will also be provided links to short animal videos and engage in discussion questions about the animals with fellow students. At the end of our course, I will post an additional video with instructions to compile the work into a zoo portfolio. Students can create an optional cover for their portfolio with the name of their zoo. When students complete and post their finished zoo portfolio, they will receive a printable certificate. Week 1: Monday: Lion Thursday: Parrot Week 2: Monday: Giraffe Thursday: Elephant Week 3: Monday: Panda Thursday: Tiger Week 4: Monday: Kangaroo Thursday: Monkey + Zoo Portfolio Instructions Friday: Students record and post video presentations *This is a flex class. That means this course does not include live meetings. Why choose a flex course? - Students can complete the work at the time that works for them during the day rather than an assigned meeting time. - Students can take extended time on drawings if needed. - Price - This course contains 8 directed-drawing projects for the price of 6.5 one-time classes. - Students will engage in written discussions with classmates and practice giving compliments. - Work compiles into a keepsake zoo book that students will take pride in. - Students will create and upload a video presenting their zoo book to the class. I am very excited to see all the amazing work we will complete together. I can't wait to see all of the learner's creative zoo portfolios!

Students will need the following materials: For drawings: White copy paper, pencil, black marker, and something to color with; crayons, markers, colored pencils and/or paint.
