The real, professional world of an Artist and Designer is not an easy path to take, but I did. Since 1984 I collaborated with manufacturers in America and abroad to produce and sell over 3,000 of my original designs. This sets me apart as a sort of Yoda of design! So, I understand that all of these awesome, young Art-Jedi-Recruits are excited about their own creativity. I help them to understand many realities of being gifted, and how to harness their ideas and focus on a specific team objective.

I teach my learners how to become a working Team of Designers. They will learn how to work together as a group of individual artists, with a focused, team design objective to achieve. My teaching style has strategically proven to bring about a lasting team building experience, which is designed to last throughout their creative lives.

A wide range of Fantasy Creatures are set before them. The team collaborates together to define, explain, and illustrate these things that don't actually exist. The team learns to focus on how to bring their own fantasy creatures to life in a believable way. Team member feedback is essential to this objective, so every single student is given the chance to direct the team toward their own vision. I regularly allow everyone to participate, yes, even the shy ones.

I have found that quite often, the most quiet child...has the best creative input; once given the chance to shine!

Self-confidence-boost is therefore a bi-product of taking my art classes.

My Students will work with many different drawing techniques. So, it is helpful if the leaner has had some basic experience in drawing.

I give them all the same creative challenge, then they translate that into their own vision. Once we have explored the original input of each young artist, then the project is completed.

We examine how they see a given creature in their minds eye; including the body type, eating habits and much more. Each creature must be properly designed to function in their natural, physical environment. I ask lots of questions as we go through this portion of the design process, and everyone must be prepared to explain for their design choices.

This is the perfect method for learners to find their own unique voice in the arts. Their confidence grows stronger, and they are provided a perfect forum to influence others.

CREATIVE STORYTELLING:

*I have also strategically designed my classes as an introduction to creative storytelling.

We begin each class with a brief introduction of any first time learners, and the creative challenge of the day.

Then, we begin our discussions and drawings about a certain aspects of the given design, and continue this throughout the class.

I use the last 10 minutes to recap and have students share their concept drawings that day with everyone. It is during this final portion that I have them explain WHY they chose to make their creature the way they did. This is where the storytelling really comes to life!
Learning Goals
My students form a foundational level of creative reasoning that can enhance the rest of their lives. I seek to teach every artist the ability to translate, capture, and communicate their vague thoughts into tangible creative form.
This is my Greatest Goal.

learners on Outschool, since May 2020!

My Focus is on bringing Creative Joy to all of my students, every single class.

WE ARE A CREATIVE FELLOWSHIP
My classroom is prayerfully fashioned to saturate young creatives in the Arts.
I maintain a safe, kind, and respectful environment. I am overjoyed with a contagiously Thankful Heart. I love this wonderful opportunity to fan the flames of creativity in every learner that comes my way. I never take it lightly, and even at 65 years young I can vividly recall my childhood in art school. I know that YOUR GIFTED CHILD has been granted beautiful talents, which I am now privileged to help them to explore!

I am also a seasoned, professional stage actor (since 1987) so I entertain and perform Character Voices throughout all of my classes! We have FUN...AND make Awesome Art every week.
So, if fun is not your agenda...don't join my classes...you won't like it.

Joy is My Contagious Super Power! We have a blast every week! We Laugh, we fellowship, and we make beautifully-crazy-creatures!

I announce the Creative Challenge at the start of every class, then I lead by creating a masterwork right before their eyes, while they draw their own wonderful work of art! I draw digitally, using a pen-mouse so that every detail is clearly visible to my students, throughout the class.

I am always teaching them how to navigate and resolve any creative issues that come up, as they seek to bring their own, unique creatures to life.

We all start with the same Creative-Creature-Challenge...and end up with a beautiful, diverse collection of original concepts brought to visual form.

I bring over 4 decades of both national and international art instruction, design, product development, writing, and theatrical stage-acting expertise to Outschool. I am the Arts...and I live it, every single day of my life.

I am here to help Your Learner Soar through the Arts, using their gifts to expand and explore their own beautiful imagination.

Here is the link to see my artwork collections online:
https://dale-crum.pixels.com/
There you will enjoy hundreds of pieces of my art: paintings, drawings, photos, and digital creations.

It is a good idea for all of you to see the artwork that I have created, so you understand the level of excellence I bring to your learner.

Dear Student, I will help YOU to become the greatest YOU that YOU can be.

I have strategically designed my crazy-fun-classes to enhance three levels of creativity in my learners, at the same time:
Visualization, Illustration, and Communication.
*I have been doing this since 1975.

Everything I teach is designed to cultivate, and enhance Creative Thinking that carries onward, for the rest of their lives.

About Me
I am a Christian, Husband, Daddy, and Papaw (of 5 so far).
I have been an outdoors-man and student of nature my entire life. I have spent thousands of hours in the woods, of the Southern United States, and in the Jungles of Belize Central America in 1981, as a missionary as well.
My passion for nature even led me on a quest for Patterns found in Nature. I have been creating revolutionary digital works of my patterns since 2002. You will find many beautiful examples of these on my website.

My international design, teaching and theatrical, missions experiences have taken me across the globe, to Taipei Taiwan, Haiti 6 times, Guatemala, performing 3 tours in England, Scotland 2 times, and even as far away as Australia!

My design career as Director of Product Development, from 1984 till now, has brought many large, national corporations multiplied millions in sales, including: Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Cracker Barrel, and many more.
I have designed over 3,000 products, so far.

I have been an Arts Educator, Actor, Public Speaker, Mentor, Instructor, and Theatrical Director forever it seems. I have been very blessed to guide countless creative souls, to maximize their own gifts. Beginning in their childhood, and onward through their own Professional Careers.
It has been a beautiful ride, watching them succeed.

I hope that you will allow me the privilege of helping your creative children to discover their own artistic direction.

I would be deeply honored to safely guide your learners through the Beautiful World of the Arts.

I was born in Memphis TN, in 1958. I have been a professional artist/actor/author/costume designer/set designer/written 5 screenplays/2 novels/director of original stage plays/author of over 20 stage scripts.

I have performed my original characters across America and in several countries around the world since 1987.

So, the Answer is: Yes, I can. Yes, I have. Yes, I will help your student to become the most creative artist they can be.

I work in virtually every medium of Art, and I am here to help you do the same.

PS...both of my Sons were completely home-schooled, one graduated Valedictorian from his college, and the other is now a CRNA.
So, I understand what you’re up against.

I believe that's enough for now,
Let's Do This!

Creatively Yours,
Dale Crum
