Description

Class Experience

In this drawing class we will learn techniques and skill for working with oil pastels. Oil pastels can be a bit messy, but they are very fun! They are perfect for learning about mixing and blending colors, as well as drawing patterns and textures. 

The class is structured as follows:  5 minutes to check in and review materials, 10 minutes for slide presentation and demo, 30 minutes for drawing, 5 minutes to share and conclude.

The student will create 4 different oil pastel drawings.
The student will learn how to blend and make different types of marks using oil pastels.

I am an experienced K-12 art teacher and a professional artist.

White drawing paper or sketchbook
oil pastels
paper towels
optional: extra paper to put under drawings

We will informally share and discuss our work throughout the class.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
