In this ongoing class, we will learn about a new animal each week, complete a worksheet together about the animal, and illustrate the animal with a step-by-step drawing. The animal lesson and drawing will change each week. Drawing is a great way for your learner to express themselves, improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, and to creatively think. This class is taught in English.
Learners will discover interesting facts about animals they may not have known, participate in a step-by-step drawing tutorial, practice expressive reading skills, and have the chance to converse with their peers.
The importance of each and every animal has always been a passion of mine. Countless hours were spent growing up placing earthworms in vegetable gardens, caring for pet rabbits, and fostering animals. I believe that by learning about different animals, learners will develop a greater understanding and appreciation for each role they play on Earth.
*Paper *Pencil w/an eraser *Markers, colored pencils, or crayons (whichever drawing medium you prefer!)
We will refer to National Geographic and Epic Reading Kids books for animal facts - these will be shared through a Google Slides lesson (with discussion, animal facts, and questions as we read). There is no need to purchase any books for this course.
