Beginner - Advanced Level
In this ongoing class, students will be learning to draw and paint beautiful birds with watercolor and acrylic paint. We will break down the subject into simple shapes and use various painting techniques to finish our bird. Add your own creative backgrounds and bird friends! Lessons will be in a "work with me format" with visual and audio step-by-step instructions. I will show my finished work at the start of class as an example along with the supplies needed to create it. Art freedom and fun will be emphasized in a relaxed setting. Students will be encouraged to add their creative personal touches to their work. I will offer a sharing event at the end of the class and/or I will encourage students to upload their finished work to the classroom to share with me and their art friends. Non-toxic, child-safe art supplies only.
Supply List
Non-toxic, child-safe watercolor paint set. Assortment of paint brushes. Cup of water. White watercolor paper. (We can use watercolor paper for acrylic painting also. Canvas works for acrylic but not for watercolor painting.) Pencil and eraser. Paper towel or paint rag. Non-toxic, child-safe acrylic paints. Paint palette with mixing space. (Disposable - Tracing paper works great and it's an easy clean up.) Plastic paint palette knife. (optional)
