Class Experience

Class will begin with reading a book and a short discussion about trains. We will then begin the focus of the lesson, drawing a train using a fun and simple method that utilizes basic shapes. We will add objects, people, and animals into our train cars and finish the class with adding color. Throughout the class, each student will be asked to share about themselves and their drawing to ensure that they get plenty of interaction during the class. While drawing the train is done by following a directed drawing, the students will be encouraged to make their drawing unique and personal to them.

The students will need to fold their paper in half (lengthwise or "hot dog style"), and cut along that crease. Then, we will tape together these two pieces together to make one long piece of paper. Parent help may be needed during this part of the lesson, or you can do this for them beforehand.

Teacher expertise and credentials
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that the basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
