This class is a unique mix of zoology and art, merging the study of unusual animals with instruction in how to draw these animals and the physical characteristics that make them so extraordinary. I will introduce the students to a variety of unusual, odd-looking and/or rarely seen creatures of the world and show where these animals fit into the classification system. Fine Arts Studies at LSU, Commercial Art Certificate, Professional experience in a variety of commercial and graphic arts fields.
A printable worksheet will be provided by the teacher. Students will complete the worksheet in class. Space will be provided on the worksheet for students to then draw a picture of the featured animal for that class. Students will need a set of at least 12 colored pencils.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
