This class is unique, because it brings the students to the old world of Columbus, Magellan, Hudson, Marco Polo, Cook and many more explorers from the past. Students will be creating and mark down every single piece of land. The old maps made by famous artists are more obvious and have more pictures than symbols. That's why we will emphasize on drawing on a simple grid, instead of making a real map. That will include adding objects such as ships and boats, weird native animals and plants for fun. This is just a simple drawing class. First I am going to teach learners how to draw a very simple map and then we will add some popular symbols and images to approach the look of the parchment maps of the past, which location currently is in world libraries and museums. We draw and then color with the pencils to finish a good image of the world map or just a piece of it. Week One - Drawing with black pencils the main fun model of maps. Week Two - Coloring and adding signs, symbols and images.
Learning Goals
Students will explore their desire to be a part of this virtual world trip learning the the way how the sailors mark down every single piece of land discovered at the old times. They also will draw fancy objects to create their own style of maps.
