Drawing the Face & Figure- Introduction to Proportion & Gesture (SUMMER CAMP)
Class experience
Interested in learning to sketch figures in natural poses, with realistic proportions? Learn face and figure proportions, practice drawing from observation, and use gesture drawing to create more lifelike drawings. Students will engage in guided drawing lessons with the teacher to practice intermediate figure drawing techniques. Each class will introduce a different technique. ****The title of this course has recently been changed for clarity. The majority of class time will be spent...
We will practice drawing proportionate human figures in still and action poses, adding clothing, shading, and backgrounds.
Figure drawing is my favorite art discipline! I have years of experience creating my own drawings and sculptures, using the human form as inspiration, and I always brought my enjoyment and expertise to my students when we created figurative artworks. I have taught figure drawing to elementary, junior high, and high school age students for over a decade, and look forward to meeting more young artists who want to learn this skill!
Homework Offered
Students will experience the most growth if techniques are practiced daily.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
