Beginner Level
The students will be taught the fundamentals of drawing through learning how to draw a cartoon character. The topics that will be covered will be important Elements and Principals of Art and Design, specifically shape language as it relates to cartooning. The class is structured through a guided drawing, with a very small lecture in there about each important step. I will be making the drawing from the instructions as I explain so the students have a visual reference. My teaching style is combining the broad picture with 1 on 1. For example, I'll explain the main thesis and goal, and as the class progresses I'll check in on everyone 1 on 1 and see how they're doing. Because everyone goes at their own speed so I want to respect that. A guided drawing in a way combines discussion and lecture. So we'll take time to see how everyone is doing and share their work once the guided drawing itself is over.

Parental Guidance
The follow sources of different types of educational drawing videos, whether it's theoretical advice or just witnessing a studio in action. As written below the idea of this is to give kids good resources to keep exploring art if they don't have the opportunity to do more classes from Outschool. Whether it's from me or other great artists on this site. It isn't an encyclopedia, but speaking from experience it's good to get the ball rolling.
Pre-Requisites

Supply List
This is a list of good archival instructional material in case the students want to do more drawing outside of the classroom. Keeping it within the guidelines, I linked potential interesting videos that I knew inspired me when I was during this age. So while some of the videos go over more theoretical concepts, it's good for budding artists to start thinking about art that way.
