Draw the intricate inner-workings of nature's fascinating soil ecosystems! You do not need to be an artist to take this class. Mrs. Joyce will explain step-by-step drawing instructions, as students follow along. Students can add their own creative style. This is a fun way to bring art and science together for a hands on learning experience. This class is social. Topics are discussed as we draw and learn simultaneously. No prior knowledge is needed for this class. For the ultimate experience, grab a sketchbook and join the on-going version of this class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of a healthy soil ecosystem by following along in a step-by-step drawing of the inner workings of the ecosystem.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Oregon
As an artist, the awe inspiring beauty of nature has kept me curiously researching and drawing the inner-workings of Earth's magnificent creations. My love for drawing science illustrations really bloomed during Botany class at the University of Oregon, as we sketched the forests floor. With the delicate webs, and life cycles, in which all is connected, breaking down due to pollution, destruction of habitats, and earth changes, I will do my best to inform others of the importance of these fascinating life cycles, as we use our artistic eye to take a closer look at how these systems rely on one another, and what we can do to preserve them.
