If you really enjoy drawing the beauty of nature, join me as we explore a variety of different media and create beautiful landscapes that even Bob Ross would be proud of! Each class will focus on learning a new drawing technique or medium as we create a new, unique artwork. Students will choose from a selection of source photos at the start of each lesson. I will demonstrate various techniques for each medium and help students progress as individual artists. All styles of drawing are welcome and experimentation is encouraged! Throughout the class, students will be encouraged to share their artwork with me so that I can help them improve and better tailor my instruction to the class. At the end of class, I save time for students who want to share their personal artwork made outside of class time. Students who continue to repeat the class will improve their mastery of techniques and can start to develop a body of portfolio-quality work. This list of techniques will rotate back around again with a different source photos each time, so you can continue to take the class and review techniques with a unique drawing at the conclusion of every class. The work is equivalent to a middle school or high school Drawing 1 class but is easy enough for upper elementary students or as a fun after-school activity. Grading and critical feedback will be provided privately through Outschool student messages. The class may be repeated for continued credit (Drawing II, etc.). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Love this class? Parental Guidance
Although it is NOT required, students who leave their cameras on and/or frequently turn on their cameras to share their artwork with the teacher do better in this class. I can offer more help if I can see the artwork students are making!
NOTE: Outschool requires a visual check-in via video at the start of every lesson.
***In addition to noting the lesson of the week as posted in the class description, keep an eye on the classroom posts! Occasionally, I will post images to the Outschool classroom to print and/or trace. If you do not have a printer, there will be other options provided to you; please let me know immediately if you're having trouble accessing the image. ***
