This weekly ongoing club will allow learners to practice socialization, public speaking, and descriptive language as we talk about our creations. Learners will gain confidence while sharing classroom space with creative friends in an inclusive and supportive environment. We will always begin class with a brief introduction where we share good news or something fun. I believe it's important to allow students to have time to share what is important to them. This also creates a sense of community in the classroom where we begin to learn about respecting others' time and interests. It can also help the teacher to come up with ideas to suggest for drawing/or building when we need ideas or encouragement. Toward the end of class, each learner will have time to share what they built or drew. I believe students learn best when they are having fun when they feel heard, safe, and accepted. Ongoing classes will allow students to begin to build their confidence in public speaking and sharing. I am a student-centered educator who listens and aims to allow students to feel heard and seen in the classroom. I want all of my students to feel empowered and engaged in every lesson. I believe that students bring important and valuable contributions to the classroom. I aim to empower learner voices in a way that they become confident critical thinkers who can pose questions and engage with their peers in a collaborative learning process. I treat my students with care, kindness and listen with attention because I value the student-teacher, teacher-student relationship.
