Drawing & Modern Calligraphy Art Class - Thanks a Bunch! Make a Thank You Card
What's included

1 in-class hoursClass Experience
Thanks a bunch! Whether you're looking to create a thank you card, or a piece of wall art to give away, this fun class combines both hand-lettering and drawing to make the perfect thank you gift. We'll cover the basics of faux calligraphy to hand-letter our thank you card. Next, we'll draw a colorful bunch of grapes with vines and a heart-shaped leaf. Students can add fun faces on their grapes, or choose to skip it, and focus on highlights and shading. We'll use various shades of purple and hues to create depth to our drawing. If time allows, we'll add a shadow to our lettering and finish off with some light flourishes. Students will be guided step-by-step and given creative liberty to change and adapt their compositions as we draw together. Card stock is preferred (but not required) for this class as we’re aiming to create a sturdy wall-art piece. Students can also choose color options they prefer most. ***Please note, some students may not have time to finish coloring their card in class depending on their optimal drawing speed. I will work at a steady pace and frequently gage where students are at during the lesson. It is my goal to help them finish their drawing, but sometimes this doesn’t allow for coloring completion before class is over. Thank you for understanding.***
Learning Goals
Students will work on following creative direction, realistic and creative drawing, balance of composition, and some color theory.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Science from Univeristy of Phoenix
I am a former Art Teacher and had the privilege of teaching Art for 2 years to K-8th grade students using various mediums and forms. A lot of my class instruction was teaching the art of drawing. Weekly, we drew various compositions ranging from seasonal landscapes, wild animals, nature, and portraits. Students enjoyed learning skills to create realistic drawings while adding as much flare and creative variation as they liked. Watching students enjoy making art and grow in their own confidence was truly a priceless gift. In addition to teaching art, I am an artist and have an art studio in my home. I've used my love for hand-lettering and design to start a business in 2015 selling products with my work. It's been so fun!
