Hello and Nihao, I'm Rita Plouffe, known to my students as Ping laoshi. Bringing a wealth of experience as a Chinese educator, I have a proven track record across all levels of education. My expertise encompasses translation, effective communication, and the art of teaching Chinese as a second language, backed by a Master's degree in teaching from Brandeis University.

My teaching philosophy revolves around student-centered learning, immersing students in the language through the rich tapestry of Chinese culture, and exploring facets such as art, history, and food. I am eager to impart my unique methods, which involve making the learning experience enjoyable through activities, play, and contextual association.

Over the past decade, I have contributed to various educational institutions, instructing students from kindergarten to adults. As a certified teacher, I have valuable experience in a Chinese immersion school. Throughout my career, I have successfully taught Chinese I, II, III, IV, and AP, with many students excelling in their HSK and AP exams.

I believe in making learning exciting and enjoyable for my students, by offering a variety of classes. Currently, I provide Chinese with games and music classes, 1-on-1 tutoring, private 1:2 tutoring, and a flexible schedule class.
In my small group classes, I personally design the curriculum and create materials, including worksheets and games. Through interactive activities, your child will learn Chinese in a dynamic and enjoyable environment. With small class sizes, students have ample opportunities to share and practice with me and their peers. I'm excited to welcome you to my class!
