Students will learn how to sketch a red panda and develop the sketch into a realistic drawing with shading and blending techniques of color pencils.
Class experience
Animals have been used in art for a long time to deliver a passage from a work of art, especially portraiture. This class is intentionally designed to help students study an animal portrait by sketching with graphite and color pencils. With color pencils, students will experiment on techniques of shading in order to turn the sketch into a realistic drawing with a colorful palette . - Pencil (HB is recommended) - Eraser (Chopped diagonally) - Colored pencils (Prismacolor is recommended). - Q-Tips - Cotton balls (Brushes for substitution) - Baby oil (Cooking oil for substitution) - Thick paper ( Mix-Media, Watercolor, or Bristol)
