Class Experience
This is an opportunity for young beginners to socialize with other young artists as they learn to draw realistically with colored pencils. ** This is an observational drawing class and students will need to provide their own real or silk flowers. ** We will begin the class with introductions, and then each individual student will set up their own still life at home with feedback from the instructor and other students. I hold a Bachelors in Fine Art from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and am a former public school art teacher. I love teaching drawing, painting, sculpture and Photoshop to learners of all ages. I've been teaching for 20+ years and running my own piano studio for 10+ years. There's a special place in my heart for creative works and the artists that make them, especially fantasy stories and narrative artworks, comics and graphic novels.2B pencils (Drawing pencils preferred) Pencil sharpener 1 good rubber or art gum eraser 8.5 x 11 or similar sized colored drawing paper (your choice of color) Colored Pencils (to get the most out of blending techniques, Prismacolors-- even just a 12-pack-- is strongly recommended) Cool objects to draw!!!
