In this one-time course, students will learn how hair works and moves, as well as some techniques for drawing different hair textures.
Class experience
This class will teach the basics of drawing hair, including how to see hair not as individual strands but as soft shapes that fall around the face due to gravity. We will also talk about different hair textures and how to draw and shade them. Class will start with classmates introducing themselves to one another, before we talk about different types of hair we know, and look at our own hair as examples. After this introduction, students will draw along with me as I draw a few different...
Learners will need something to draw with and something to draw on--this class talks about shading a lot, so something like a pencil is preferable-- in a pinch, a ballpoint pen also works, but probably not an ink pen.
