Drawing for Beginners: Using Pencils to Create Art

Would you rather draw a picture or play a game? In this class, you can do both. Would you rather paint a picture or play a game? In this class, you can do both. You will learn a little about drawing techniques while we socialize. Get your reactions and questions ready in case a game of Would You Rather breaks out. 
During this multi-day drawing class, the learners will have the opportunity to learn basic skills in drawing using a pencil. If they would like to add color to their pictures, they are welcome to do so. Creativity is encouraged.
The class will use the following structure:
Greetings/Introductions
Introduction and demonstration of the element or technique for the week
Drawing and socialization time
Virtual Art Gallery
Each week, I will demonstrate one of the elements of art or a drawing technique. The learners will then use the element or technique to create pictures of either their choosing or complete as a directed drawing.
Day 1: Types of Line and Sketching
Day 2: Using lines and shapes to create pictures
Day 3: Using smudging to create a landscape 
Day 4: Highlights and shading, and creating still life drawings
Day 5 Using Pictures to inspire art
Day 6: Using gridlines to recreate a picture
Day 7: Perspective and how to create  one-point 
Day 8: Two-point perspective and multi-point perspective- the learners will choose one type of perspective to create a picture during this session.
The learners will be encouraged to interact with each other throughout the lesson. We may play "Would You Rather" if the learners want to do this. Learners will be encouraged to determine the topics of conversations as we draw.
