This four day class is designed to introduce the learner to the human face, finding and drawing feature placement, and applying the elements of art to create realistic portraits.

Day 1:  Mapping the facial proportions, drawing from scratch and finding placement for all the facial features.
Day 2:  Building form, adding value (shading), texture, and details for the face and features.
Day 3: Continuing form, value, texture, details for the face and features, learning color blends and creating skin-tones.
Day 4:  Choosing colors, tips for various mediums, testing other methods, and sharing successes!

Class Expectations: 
Growth Mindset- At the beginning, it is okay if it does not look the way you want it.  Keep in mind that the more you practice, the better you get!  Just like learning an instrument or playing a sport,  sometimes we need help getting things right.  Artists understand that it is okay when we have suggestions and critiques because we rely on them to reach our goals to become better artists.
Kindness Counts- As we share our work, we are sharing a part of who we are.  When we have opportunity to leave comments, we must use kindness and helping words.  We’re all learning together and we want to build community and become better communicators as well as artists.
