I have developed a childproofed technique for drawing dogs, just for Outschool students! By the end of the course students will be able to amaze friends and family with their new skills. In the first week we will begin with heads. We will master front and side views. We explore how dogs are different from the wolf ancestors. Week two is the start of the canine body, beginning with the profile (side) view. The third week will be the most challenging as we draw both the heads and bodies three-dimensional poses. The results they get in this class will be reflective of how much they have practiced in the previous weeks. In the fourth and final session we will learn how to pose our dogs for relaxation and for action! If you have been practicing, this will be where your skills shine! I always post the videos of our classes so that students can rewatch them and maybe pick up something they missed the first time. If a student was absent for a class, or ill, or just distracted, they can watch the class at their leisure. Also, I'm always happy to comment on work that is uploaded to the classroom and offer encouragement. After each class, a practice assignment is given out, downloadable from the classroom. I review the practice work each week. Parental Guidance
Students that don't have good fine motor skills may get frustrated. I think this class is best for students who already enjoy drawing.
Supply List
We will be drawing together so students will need something to draw with. That could mean something simple, like pencil and paper, or advanced, like a tablet computer. Pencil users should have sharp pencils or mechanical pencils and good erasers. We will be erasing a fair bit. Any blank paper will do, no need to get a fancy drawing pad.
