3 hrs 20 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this course, students will learn a simplified method for drawing dinosaurs. This class is most suitable for younger, less-experienced artists who are just starting out. The class will be given step-by-step and will not involve shading. Each class will begin with folding a sheet of paper to help students as a placement guide. We will then move towards drawing shapes and joining them to create an overall picture of a dinosaur. Finally, we will add a background and color our creations. This class is very much about learning some basic art and drawing skills, sharing a love of dinosaurs, and engaging in the process of drawing. We will always focus on the process over the product. Students will engage in fun discussions, share their day with one another, and share their work, if they desire. Week 1: Triceratops & Brachiosaurus Week 2: T Rex & Pterodactyl Week 3: Stegosaurus & Velociraptor Week 4: Spinosaurus & Ankylosaurus

Teacher expertise and credentials
1) I teach all kinds of classes, from science and social studies to reading and writing and everything in between. I am passionate about teaching the process of art. In my brick & mortar classroom, as well as in my online classes, I focus on process over product. It is about how we feel when we create that is important and will help us to stay the course and continue to refine our skills to grow.
2) I have been a professional educator for 17 years. I have worked in public and private school settings, as well as online. I have taught students as young as two and as old as college-aged students. I have taught ESL as well as applied behavior therapy for students with Autism.
3) Making connections with students and helping them make connections with the curriculum has always been the key to education for me as an educator. Students do better when they see value in what they are doing, and I always do my best to help students see the value in their education.
4) I love cookbooks! I have about 50 cookbooks. They are sort of a collection in my house. I studied French for 12 years!!! I even lived in France off and on for 8 years. I think everything sounds better in French. :-)
