Assessment
A sense of self worth and pride in ongoing improvement is our goal. I will always find something good and praise each artist in class. I feel praise is more valuable than criticism at this age to help guide young minds and encourage progress.

Class Experience

Time to get out your papers and pencils for a fun time drawing adorable animals. Each week we will draw a new creation. These cute animals use basic shapes as the base so designs are easily understood. That does not mean that these are drawings that aren't complex. My drawing classes can be intensive but also very rewarding. Students will not have time to color their pictures fully during class as we mostly focus our time on drawing and sharing.

General Schedule:
Check in: Show and Tell (share art, stuffies, or something important to you)
We will then see what we are drawing today.
Drawing together step by step our 1st animal
Share our pictures
Draw together our 2nd animal
Share our pictures
Depending how long the first 2 animals took we will either do a 3rd led drawing or will do our drawing challenge. We generally will do a 3rd drawing. Any additional time will be used to color.
Share our pictures

This class is 55 minutes so very long for some kids. I have a shorter class for those who can not sit this long or would prefer to focus on one drawing and have a chance to color it.

Since this class is ongoing you can stop attending at any time.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to break complex subjects into simpler shapes and forms in order to recreate them easily.

Parental Guidance
I usually leave chat open and do not mute kids in this class so they can share their artwork and because I generally can not see their hands since I am drawing with them. However, I will mute any child who is being disruptive to the rest of the class or overly monopolizing as I want all students to have a chance to share. I may also mute a student if we can hear parents or siblings in the background so that everyone can hear my instructions. This is not me singling any student out. They may unmute anytime they would like to share. Every student will be given multiple opportunities throughout class to share their art work with everyone. Creativity is encouraged. If a child wants to draw something else I will not force them to draw what I am drawing. I feel that art is subjective and not every project brings each student joy and art should be joyful. Please message me at anytime with concerns or questions.
