My goal is for artists to have fun learning how to draw and design Mario Bros characters with simple lines, shapes and using supplies (you already have) and to continue to experiment and be inspired beyond class.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My style is more simple, abstract, and graphic and this is reflected in my artwork over the years. I enjoyed working with elementary-aged students for a few years when I ran a volunteer-led art program. We did a wide variety of simple art projects that incorporated the elements of art and principles of design, as well as inspiration from an art master. I love the expressiveness of these character drawings and the enthusiasm artists have for Mario characters. Sharing ways to draw by breaking it down into smaller pieces is so important and empowers artists to continue working on their skills and strive for more
There’s no specific homework, but artists may want to continue adding and embellishing their drawings after class time.
