Welcome to the exciting artistic side of the Mario Bros universe! In this ongoing drawing class, artists will venture on a creative journey to learn how to draw their favorite Mario Bros characters with some simple lines and shapes. If you enjoy Mario Bros and drawing, please join us! From the iconic Mario and Luigi to the adorable Yoshi and the villainous Bowser and more, we will walk step-by-step through the process of bringing these beloved characters to life on paper! Artists will also be able to see everything live on my overhead art cam, as we will learn about the basic shapes, proportions and distinct features needed to draw different characters each meeting time. We will focus on capturing the individuality of each through their expressions, different body types and facial features. Everyone is encouraged to add embellishments on their own including background, clothing, and other extras. Artists will gain confidence in their drawing abilities and will understand and develop a beginning foundation in character design. The benefits of drawing extend beyond the time in the studio and can help improve hand-eye coordination, concentration, focus and even visual and hand dexterity. Everyone will receive praise and reinforcement as we celebrate where they are with their work. Artists will have a collection of impressive Mario Bros character drawings to showcase their progress and inspire their future creative endeavors. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from UCLA
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My style is more simple, abstract, and graphic and this is reflected in my artwork over the years. I enjoyed working with elementary-aged students for a few years when I ran a volunteer-led art program. We did a wide variety of simple art projects that incorporated the elements of art and principles of design, as well as inspiration from an art master. I love the expressiveness of these character drawings and the enthusiasm artists have for Mario characters. Sharing ways to draw by breaking it down into smaller pieces is so important and empowers artists to continue working on their skills and strive for more
