In this ongoing semester class students will learn to draw different Kawaii-style characters (and facial expressions) and socialize in a safe and cheerful environment. (Kawaii means HAPPY in Japanese) We will draw in real time and learn the steps for drawing four or more (depending on complexity) different characters with each weekly theme. Students will improve drawing skills such as proportion, sketching, finalizing shapes, and color gradient. Students will also practice conversation skills and enjoy a relaxing activity. Kawaii Puppies and Kittens Week of September 12: Kawaii Ocean Week of September 19: Kawaii Sweet Foods Week of September 26: Kawaii Earth Characters (clouds, mushrooms) Week of October 3: Kawaii Jungle animals Week of October 10: Kawaii Pirates and Mermaids Week of October 17: Kawaii Wizarding World! Week of October 24: Kawaii Halloween Creatures! Week of October 31: Kawaii Mythical Creatures Week of November 7: Kawaii Fruits Week of November 14: Kawaii Thanksgiving Foods! Week of November 21: (No class 11/23-11/25) Week of November 28: Kawaii Woodland Animals Week of December 5: Kawaii Arctic Animals Week of December 12: Kawaii Veggies Week of December 18: Kawaii Christmas Characters! Week of December 25: (Christmas Break - no class this week) Weekly drawing subject to change based on students' preference.
Some coloring may need to be done outside of class if not finished in class.
Pencils, eraser, white paper, crayons or colored pencils, and a black pen (preferably gel-pen or fine-tip black marker).
50 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
