30 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Please continue working on your sketch if you do not finish it in class.Class Experience
In this class students will practice sketching a new flower or plant each week. While sketching, students will learn botany facts about the plants. Students will be given a photo before class to work from, and this photo will be shared over the screen during the lesson. The teacher will also share a live video of her drawing. During this sketching class, students will practice drawing shapes, shading in values, and using color while learning about various plants. Since our lessons are 30 minutes long, the focus will be on one flower or plant per class and we will take our time to get into the details. Students will be encouraged to share their sketches at the end of class and asked to recall any interesting facts that they learned throughout the lesson. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun! Teacher expertise and credentials
I will be teaching a range of art classes for young artists that want to have fun and teen artists that are more serious about their artistic skills. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and a minor in art history, as well as 2.5 years of classical realism atelier training. I am a full time professional artist and I love to teach! I have been teaching children and adults for the past 5+ years. I believe that having as much artistic training as you can early on will benefit your professional career as an artist. When I'm not painting and teaching, you will find me outside in the mountains. I love to go hiking, camping, and skiing. You might even catch me with my easel outdoors!
