Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
The goal of this class is to encourage children to approach drawing with curiousity, confidence, and joy.
After the warm-up and step-by-step instruction, students will be assigned an independent drawing activity. We will work on said assignment for the remainder of the class, with students being welcome to peacefully brainstorm together, and with Ms. Rose providing ongoing feedback and instruction. That said, students are encouraged to take their time and to continue working on their drawings outside of class... after all, one can never spend too much time happily drawing! Students are asked to bring their completed drawings to the next class so everyone can admire their amazing work!
1. Blank Paper or Sketchbook
2. HB pencil
3. Markers and/or pencil crayons
4. Pencil Sharpener
5. Eraser
6. Q-tip or blending stump
*Art Pencils in a variety of grades (optional)

Depending on the class, Ms. Rose may ask that students bring an interesting still-life object(s) with them to class. If so, a message will be sent to parents beforehand.
I do not grade artwork. My classes are always about building creative confidence through encouragement, open-ended questions, trial and error, and lots of praise! We are here to create together, to try new things, and to enjoy some relaxing art time.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
