In this ongoing class, students will learn how to draw and create different animals and backgrounds! I want students to learn how to create/draw anything they can think of, so we will use a lot of similar body shapes from week to week so they can practice and master their drawing skills. We will draw our animals step-by-step, and then add in a fun background. I use this time to talk/teach about several drawing terms (horizon line, movement, depth, texture etc.) to really elevate their drawings. Toward the end of class, students will get the chance to share an idea of something fun/silly/realistic to add to our creation, and I will draw it on mine. Everyone will have the opportunity to have their artwork 'spotlighted' to receive individual praise and positive feedback. I always tell students that my creation is just an example of what they can make - they are encouraged to use their imaginations and creativity in this class! I will share my screen and draw digitally on the computer, so my hand will not be in the way, and will not be obstructing anyone's view.

Hello Families!
My name is Nicole - my students usually call me Ms. Cole. I graduated from ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts with a double major in Design Studies - with a focus in 3D modeling and digital fabrication; and the other in Art Studies - with a focus in fashion and studio art.
I have a passion for the arts and really enjoy creating with clay and drawing in my free time. I love teaching fashion, drawing, and art classes; as well as early learning foundations for preschool and pre-k.
I am a multi-certified lead teacher for toddlers, preschool, and pre-k. I taught preschool and pre-k for five years, and I absolutely loved it!
I am a homeschool mom to my amazing daughter who keeps me on my toes and helps me come up with exciting new class ideas all the time.
I can't wait to see you in class!
