Drawing Camp: Optical Art-Inspired Designs!

Each week will start with introductions and an overview of the design, patterns, and shapes for our optical art-inspired drawing. Artists will be shown live, step-by-step, how to compose the drawing.

We will have fun composing a new piece with different combinations of lines and see how they come together for the overall design. We will also see how the negative space is equally important as the positive space! We may even add color!

All learners work at a different pace and some designs may be more challenging than others. It is important to try new things so, let’s go for it! I know everyone will do their best.

I always encourage opportunities for learners to share their designs and ask questions as they arise.

June 19: Squiggles
June 26: Quad Flower
July 3: Spiral Star
July 10: Spheres 

You will need: 
-Pencil
-Bar eraser
-White paper 
-Black Ultrafine Sharpie
-Black Fine Sharpie
-Colored pencils and markers
-Sharpener
-Ruler
*Having a good black marker is important for this class! Thanks

* Please note that depending on your learner’s pace, they may not complete the drawing 100% by the end of class, but they will know how to do so from instruction during class.
