In this FLEX class we will sketch and draw the human figure and learn at least one drawing technique each week as it relates to the subject. Student will create four drawings of the human figure. Student will create four drawings that may include the following drawing techniques: shading, sketching, line variety, hatching or cross-hatching. Student will demonstrate knowledge of proportion, gesture or expression through drawing.
I am a certified K-12 art educator as well as a professional artist and illustrator.
As this is a FLEX class, learners are encouraged to watch videos and complete drawing assignments within the four week period.
White Drawing paper or Sketchbook Pencil Eraser Q-tip or paper towel for blending Pencil Set (optional)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Instructor will provide informal assessment in the form of written message. Feedback will be specific to learner's ability and level, and will center around art vocabulary and concepts (shape, proportion, value, gesture, shading). Please note that as the instructor I do not expect students to copy the instructor's example, but rather to follow the process and draw according to their own level and ability.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The Google slide presentation will be presented by the instructor onscreen within the recorded video. All content within the Google slide presentation is created by the instructor and may include: drawings, digital drawings or slides demonstrating art vocabulary and/or skills and techniques, as well as stock photo images of people (i.e., athletes, dancers). Supplemental materials such as quizzes and slide presentations of art historical examples will be provided through Nearpod.
