Drawing Animals With Colored Pencils: Part 1 | FLEX
In this fun, interactive FLEX class, learners will learn about and practice applying key steps to complete drawings of different animals while learning fun facts!
***There are no live meetings for this FLEX class*** There will be pre-recorded videos, fun assignments, and online interaction in the Outschool classroom page. FLEX classes are perfect for learners with busy schedules as they can watch the videos and complete the assignments on their own time. ABOUT In this fun, interactive class, learners will learn foundational drawing skills that can be applied to any drawing - from cartoon to realistic. For these classes, we will focus on drawing...
Learners will be able to apply some key steps to their own drawings at home! Key steps: - Light and Shadow Learners will pinpoint the light and shadow. - Shapes Learners will identify the big overall shape first and then identify and draw the smaller, important shapes. - Shading Learners will use what they learned about light and shadow to shade their animal.
I graduated from Grand Central Atelier in New York City where I was trained to draw and paint realistically in a traditional way. While I usually draw realistically, I also enjoy using this approach to draw in different styles. My goal is to teach children the tools of drawing and give them the opportunity to practice applying them so that they will be able to draw what they want independently.
Homework will be posted on Mondays along with the drawing tutorial. The homework will consist of a pencil colored drawing of the animal of the week plus choosing one fun fact from the video. To make the most of this class, learners will: - post a photo by Friday (or before the next Monday) of their drawing their favorite fact - present their favorite fact by either a video or writing a comment when they post their drawing - interact kindly with other learners by commenting on classmates' work and thanking classmates' praise - answer fun discussion prompts on Wednesdays to get to know each other
