25 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
We start every class with a warm hello and a few minutes to share anything new and exciting for the week. This may be the learner's completed artwork from the previous week - or it may be a plushie, or something else! Next, we draw. I will teach young artists to identify shapes and lines in Animal Crossing New Horizons characters, while they create their own drawing. I will guide the process step-by-step, and demonstrate line-by-line. Students can use a black marker, or they can choose to use a pencil to start with. After drawing the figure, we will color them in if time allows. If we run out of time to color, I will post my colored in sample to the classroom so that students may continue their work after class. Students can use any coloring utensil they prefer! Crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint, pastels, the sky is the limit! While this is an art-based course, we want to also feel like a community, and get to know others who share a love for the ACNH game. See below which characters will be covered each week! Aug. 16-22: Tom Nook Aug. 23-29: Isabelle Aug. 30-Sept. 5: K.K. Slider Sept. 6-12: Mabel Sept. 13-19: Redd Sept. 20-26: Blathers Sept. 27-Oct. 3: Kicks Oct. 4-10: Tom Nook Oct. 11-17: Sable Oct. 25-31: Stitches ...and more to be announced soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Fine/Studio Arts from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
Hello, I'm Ms. Jes!
In my classes, kids unleash their inner artist using favorite characters and games that I’m just as passionate about as they are. We explore spontaneous creativity and embracing “mistakes”. Let’s start drawing outside the box!
I am most passionate about teaching art and learning in unique ways. My approach to teaching infuses encouragement and optimism while having fun and connecting with a new generation over shared interests. Every child is special and celebrated for being who they are! No matter the class, I believe in positively approaching learning and finding joy in it.
• Outside of Outschool, I founded a nonprofit youth performing arts academy in 2015.
• I live in the beautiful Midwest of the USA with my husband and two children.
• If you need financial assistance, please don't hesitate to message me, and I will do my best to offer a reduced rate whenever possible.
