As the educator, I will be teaching students 3 basic fractals, how to draw them, and where they might be found. Through this process we will discuss the mathematics and geometry behind the fractals, who created them, and what other things might can be drawn as fractals. As found in the fractals, the class will be setup into thirds. The first section will be dedicated to the history and some basic mathematics needed to construct the fractals. In the second part of the lesson, students will be...
A one-page handout will be provided 24 hours before the class begins. The student will need a ruler, a tool to create a right angle (the corner of photo frame, the corner of a small picture, a driver's license, etc.) and a pencil (a pen will NOT suffice). The ruler may have inches and/or centimeters. A basic tape measure will not suffice since it bends and cannot be used as a 'straightedge'. The student will also need several sheets of paper.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
