Would you rather paint in the style of a famous artist, or create a creature that likes the same dessert that you like? In this class, you can do both. This engaging class combines the excitement of learning about renowned artists with the creativity of crafting unique creatures. Join us for an experience that fosters artistic expression and appreciation for art history. Each week, I will provide a video that has information about a different famous artist. The students will learn about various artists while taking inspiration from that artist and creating their own works of art.
I have been an educator for over 30 years. During this time, I have taught all academic subjects as well as Art and STEAM to children in grades K-5.
The students will create a piece of art each week using the artist of the week as inspiration.
The supplies will be determined by the medium that the learner prefers to use for their art. Paper or canvas Pencil Crayons/Markers/Color pencils/ Watercolors/ Acrylic Paints/ Procreate or other drawing apps as preferred by the learner **If paints are used, then the following items will be needed: Palette Brushes Cup of water- two if watercolors are to be used Paper towel Something to protect the work surface
Students will be assessed informally based upon the art they create in the style of the famous artist and their interaction with each other throughout the course.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be creating their own artwork based upon the art of famous artists. They will also determine some of the topics of conversation that occurs during this course.
I am using research that I completed in order to create the materials for the curriculum.
