1 in-class hours per weekClass Experience
A fun and interactive class to help children develop both practical art skills and creative confidence. Students will experiment with different techniques/materials which compliments the theme and will have a final piece of artwork at the end of each class. The classes are designed to get the children in touch with their artistic side, improving their observational skills and giving their creative side a workout. In the ongoing classes, students will be creating artwork inspired by nature. Subjects include animals, landscapes, florals e.t.c. Art projects will include drawing, painting, abstract, mixed media and much more. I will give simple step by step instructions on how to complete each project. Students are encouraged to add their own unique touch to their paintings. The supply list and theme for each class will be announced in advance. Please make sure you check details in the classroom or message me directly to make sure all materials are ready for class. I prefer to use a balanced mix of teaching styles to address the needs of diverse students in the class. Every student will have a different level of skill and different method of communicating. I'm happy for my students to interact either through discussions, questions or using the chat function and continue to share their progress of the artwork during class so I can keep track that they are all following along. I'm aware that all students will have different skill levels and learning styles and I look forward to supporting each child during this process. No drawing/painting experience is necessary for this class. After enrolling your child, please take a look in the classroom for the instructions for the upcoming class. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Sumaiya, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design. I’ve also completed a Neuro-Psychology of Learning course for Supplementary School teachers and a Safeguarding course for Supplementary Schools, ensuring that I am equipped to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for my students.
I am a passionate artist and designer, specialising in painting, drawing, digital print, surface design, and illustration. With years of experience and expertise in various fields of art and design, I bring my unique perspective to my teaching style, making sure that every child I work with gets the best experience possible.
As part of my creative journey, I sell hand-painted art prints/canvas, design art murals, logos, and posters. I have worked as an apparel/gifts designer and as a designer for print, jersey-wear, and licensed brands such as Warner Bros Studios and Transport for London (TFL). These experiences have not only honed my skills but have also given me a deeper understanding of the creative process and the importance of being patient and dedicated to the craft.
At the core of my teaching philosophy is the desire to inspire children, boost their creative confidence, develop their artistic flair, and ensure they enjoy the process. As an art and design teacher, I aim to create meaningful and engaging classes that nurture and encourage creativity. I believe that every child is unique and has something valuable to offer, and my goal is to help them discover their potential and express themselves creatively.
When I am not teaching or creating art, I love spending time experimenting with new plant-based recipes and caring for my beloved plants. I am also excited to be expecting a new addition to my family soon.
