Class Experience
This is a one- time class. Students will learn the basics of chalk pastels. No background knowledge is required. The project pictured above is what will be completed. Pumpkins are one of my favorite things to teach when I teach children about pastels. I will be doing a step by step drawing on how to make a pumpkin drawing with shading using only chalk pastels. I be drawing along with the students. I will guide each student in making the shapes and how to properly use the pastels and blend...
During the school year I teach art to students with special needs in grades 3-8 in a public school setting. I am trained in all areas of art. The lessons that I am teaching in this class are lessons that I have taught at my school.
A piece construction paper or sketchbook, preferably size 12x18 and chalk pastels. The colors of construction paper that work best are blue, green, white, black, red, and pink.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
