Description

Class Experience

The students will learn about the Japanese Art of Kawaii. They will also learn to use alcohol markers to create shading. The students will be challenged to create their own drawings as well as those demonstrated in the videos. While in the main demonstration videos, I will be using alcohol ink markers, if you prefer to use watercolor paint, colored pencils, or some other medium, I will be glad to create a video to demonstrate the technique with that medium.
I have been an educator for over 30 years. During this time, I have taught all academic subjects including Art and STEM to students in grades K-5.
Students will need to draw and color the pictures that are demonstrated as well as the pictures that are in the weekly challenges. They will need to post their pictures on the class page.
Cardstock Pencil Eraser Alcohol Markers- if other mediums are used, please let me know. I will be glad to demonstrate using other mediums Scrap paper/index cards for practicing shading, highlighting, and blending Camera (can be a phone camera)- used to upload pictures of artwork.
The learner's progress will be assessed informally based on their participation in the activities.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The students will be determining some of the art that they present in class. Students may need help posting their artwork to the class page. Alcohol Markers do give off an odor. Please make sure that your child uses them in an area that has good ventilation.
There will be no outside sources used for this class.
