 Week 1
Lesson 1
Sweet Treats
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Sweet Treats. Blending using alcohol ink markers will also be covered.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Animals
In this lesson, we will learn about and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Animals.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Magical Creatures
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Magical Creatures.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Plants
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Plants.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
School Tools
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of School Tools.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Ocean Animals
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Ocean Animals.

Fruit
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Fruits.

Bugs and Insects
In this lesson, we will learn about what Kawaii is and create some Kawaii-styled pictures of Bugs and Insects.
  • The students will learn about the Japanese Art of Kawaii. They will also learn to use alcohol markers to create shading. The students will be challenged to create their own drawings as well as those demonstrated in the videos. While in the main demonstration videos, I will be using alcohol ink markers, if you prefer to use watercolor paint, colored pencils, or some other medium, I will be glad to create a video to demonstrate the technique with that medium.
I have been an educator for over 30 years. During this time, I have taught all academic subjects including Art and STEM to students in grades K-5. I am a self-taught artist that has developed my skills for over 35 years as this is one of my life long passions.

Details: Students will need to draw and color the pictures that are demonstrated as well as the pictures that are in the weekly challenges. They will need to post their pictures on the class page.

Alcohol Markers- if other mediums are used, please let me know. I will be glad to demonstrate using other mediums
Scrap paper/index cards for practicing shading, highlighting, and blending
Camera (can be a phone camera)- used to upload pictures of artwork.
The students will be determining some of the art that they present in class. Students may need help posting their artwork to the class page. Alcohol Markers do give off an odor. Please make sure that your child uses them in an area that has good ventilation. 
There will be no outside sources used for this class.
