Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding and application of foreground, middle ground and back ground to develop depth in a landscape drawing. Students will learn three colored pencil mixing techniques to use in their artwork.
I have been a middle school and high school art teacher for 21 years. I enjoy teaching learners the process of creating art and developing creativity through exploration. I am a show and practice teacher. I provide students the opportunity to see a technique or skill being used and offer students a safe environment to practice their skills and receive encouraging feedback on their progress.
At the end of day 1, students may continue editing their drawing and refining their landscape designs.
Drawing paper (at least 8" x 10") Sketching pencil Colored pencils A variety of pictures of landscapes (old calendar pictures work great)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Through informal assessment, I will provide feedback to students regarding their understanding and development of depth in their artwork. Students will be able to identify the foreground, middle ground and back ground elements of their art work at the conclusion of their images. This assessment will take place in at the end of class through critique if students feel comfortable or through Flipgrid if students do not wish to share in class with peers.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
