In this one day class students will draw their favorite characters while learning tips on how to improve their art.

Class experience

Students will improve their technical drawing skills by casual practice in drawing their character of choice. They will also learn tips on how to improve their artwork such as how to break down an image before drawing, how to use certain art utensils to draw, ink and color their drawings if they want to, etc. As well as fun, interesting facts about the animation industrysuch as origins on animation, the inner workings of the industry in film and TV, the famous artists and directors who became legends within the industry, etc.
I decided to offer this class to give students who love animation and comics a chance to share their passion/interest with other likeminded kids their age while also enjoying the benefit of learning tips about how to improve their artwork and interesting, fun and helpful on how the industry they may be looking to be apart of in the future, works. I also considered the students who have more of a "casual interest" in art and animation who're just here to kick back and have a good time enaging in their favorite hobby. Regardless of which category they fall into, all students will enjoy the relaxing, "nerd-friendly" and "judgement-free" atmosphere.

This class is a perfect fit for me because it combines the part of me that loves teaching and the part of me that loves casual conversation; I have a very interactive teaching style that strives to help students learn by getting them involved while keeping them comfortable and getting them excited. To learn and get along at the same time. These are all things that all students can expect when taking any of my classes. Students get the combination of both the "class" and "club" experience. The "classroom" provides drawing practice, developing skills and teacher access; the "club" provides the stress, homework and grade free atmosphere where students can have fun socializing, joking around and talking about their shared interests.
Students should come to class prepared with paper, a drawing utensil, coloring tools of choice (if they want to color their drawings), reference images so they can draw their characters of choice and a positive attitude!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be no content that requires parental guidance. All characters and images referenced to will be wholesome and family/child friendly.
